Rawalpindi Ring Road was a project of CM Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif, who had a very brief plan for the province of Punjab. The incumbent incompetent government had it held for a long time, even 4 years have already passed. Now recently, we have come across the news that the Rawalpindi Ring Road’s PC-1 has been approved by the societies and it is said to begin by the August this year.
The special assistant to Prime Minister, Dr. Firdous Aashiq Awan made a statement where she claims that all the deficit that RDA had, amounted none more than 1 Billion, has been taken out in the past 2 years and they are up for starting the project as soon as possible.
Also, she has acclaimed that they had almost 67 sanctions, or to be more precise auction paras over the RRR project, which were responded, reviewed, and cleared in front of the Public Accounts Committee. She along with her fellow administrators seemed much confident that they will soon begin constructing the core of the project, Rawalpindi Ring Road from main Grand Trunk Road to Motorway M-2, Thallian Interchange. The project will all under the proper jurisdiction of district Rawalpindi, and will be administered directly by the Punjab Ring Road Authority (PPRA) under the provincial government of Punjab.
